Gambler's Fallacy

Role - UI/UX Engineer | Producer

Programmer Responsibilities:

  • Collaborated with a UI designer to develop scalable, designer-friendly interfaces.

  • Engineered an inventory management system using an MVC framework.

  • Designed and implemented a menu controller with an API supporting a dynamic page/stack system.

  • Developed a procedural system for UI art to generate multiple interface assets.

Challenges:

  • It was difficult to handle two roles of being a UI/UX engineer and a producer at once.

  • Learning how to closely collaborate with a UI designer for the first time, to best support them in the design process.

  • As gameplay systems that needed UI systems, became bigger and needed more attention. Resulting in the UI systems needing to be restructured and rewritten

  • Learning and implementing new UI architectures such as MVC, MVVM, and a Page stack system, and iterating upon them. 

Gambler's Fallacy, is an isometric rogue-like set in a sinister gambler's den within the wicked Wild West. You play as an aging cowboy trapped in a seemingly inescapable loop of chance and chaos, battling to break free from this deadly fallacy. Armed with a deck of cards, you’ll collect and hurl them as weapons against waves of menacing foes, testing your skills and luck in equal measure.
